The Data Collaboration Alliance is a nonprofit that's dedicated to helping people and organizations get full control of their information.

We see control (through the reduction of data silos and copy-based data integration) as the key to unlocking meaningful data ownership, simplified compliance, and super-efficient innovation.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

UNIVERSAL
CONTROL

We support approaches to digital innovation that minimize data silos and copies in order to make meaningful control possible.

UNIVERSAL
OWNERSHIP

We believe that data ownership is a human right and control should be in the hands of the rightful owner or a temporary custodian they appoint.

UNIVERSAL
ACCESS

We support frictionless innovation that's powered by collaboration between people and systems and protected by owner-defined access grants.

Making control the foundation of data ownership and global collaborative intelligence

WHAT WE DO

Our Collaboration Hub hosts open datasets, data crowdsourcing projects for nonprofits and data-for-good teams, and a growing marketplace of free digital solutions in support of important global causes.

We support Zero-Copy Integration, a new standard for digital innovation that decouples data from apps to support meaningful control and collaboration. We're also developing the World's first Data Collaboration Policy template.

The Collaborative Intelligence Network is a research project focused on defining a global infrastructure for data and apps that's based on control and collaboration. Includes a blueprint, videos, and interoperability tests.

The Data Drop is a podcast and event series focusing on data ownership, data governance, and the future of innovation. Listeners stay on top of best practices and emerging trends by participating in polls.
