CipherMode Labs joins Data Collaboration Alliance

Updated: Sep 1, 2022

CipherMode Labs strive to build a modern, easy-to-use secure computation platform for digital ecosystems that preserves privacy and enables data sharing.

Use and Share Data Freely and Securely

CipherMode is the next-generation computation platform that preserves the confidentiality of data during all stages, even the computation itself.

They are a team of technologists and privacy advocates who believe that access to data - the right data at the right time by the right programs - is possible using advanced encryption that protects the data at all times while enabling arbitrary computation and maximum utilization.

Dr. Sadegh Riazi is a technology enthusiast, currently co-founder and CEO of CipherMode Labs. He received his Ph.D. in secure computation from UC San Diego where he was awarded the best Ph.D. thesis award. Sadegh founded Project HEAX at Microsoft Research (a new computing platform for Homomorphic Encryption).

Prior to that, he studied Electrical Engineering and designed a new system for Brain-Computer Interfaces. Sadegh is a fellow of the Institute for Global Entrepreneur and has received multiple prestigious awards including Richard Newton Young Fellow Award, Jacobs Graduate Student Award, and Silver Medal in International Student Olympiad.

About the Data Collaboration Alliance

The Data Collaboration Alliance is a nonprofit that’s dedicated to establishing CONTROL as the basis for meaningful data ownership and global collaborative intelligence. Our approach of eliminating copies to achieve this goal is similar to how societies already protect the value of currency, identity, and intellectual property - and it works for data, too. Our advisors include the Executive Director of the Mozilla Foundation and the ex-CIO of Dropbox.

In concert with our partners, we're accelerating the establishment of new technologies, standards, and methodologies in data management and application development in order to support a future for technology that's more controlled, collaborative, and efficient.

Key programs:

  • Community - our members access free privacy apps and data crowdsourcing

  • Partner Success - amplifying products, content, and leaders

  • Advocacy - we support 'zero copy' technologies, standards, and methodologies

  • Research - we support proofs of concept for web3 interoperability

  • Software For Good - our partners support data-centric research teams

  • Speakers Bureau - thought leaders available for media and events

Stay up-to-date with our progress by subscribing to our newsletter and podcast and following us on LinkedIn and Twitter.
