Today, generating copies of sensitive data is a routine part of "integration", a process that's essential to the functioning of most systems and applications. The proposed standard for Zero Copy Integration seeks to eliminate copies from the design of new applications and systems by leveraging network-based architectures, such as those found in Data Fabric platform technology.
The introduction of data-as-a-network design represents a major step towards making collaborative intelligence and meaningful data ownership the "new normal" within digital service environments. Furthermore, the efficiencies that result from the copyless approach (up to 50% on digital transformation projects) stands to provide early adopters with a significant competitive edge.
Together with standards for the responsible use of transaction-based technologies such as AI/ML and blockchain the proposal for Zero Copy Integration could be foundational for the intelligent enterprise of the future.
